Sathyabama to the world is Krishna’s wife, but she also has her own identity as a warrior par excellence and as the reincarnation of Bhudevi or Mother Earth. Imagine Sathyabama, being asked by Krishna for her help in defeating a Demon/deranged power-hungry King, Narakasura. The irony is that Narakasura was also born to Bhudevi and used that fact, completely to his advantage. He had plundered all the worlds and harassed men & women without any discrimination and had crossed lines that were unpardonable. The world was looking to Krishna and he knew that the only person who could take up this task was Sathyabama as she was Bhudevi reincarnated and the only one who could get it done. Battles cannot be won without a strategy and Sathyabama was assisted by Krishna as her charioteer. Imagine Sathyabama firing in full power as a skilled archer and Krishna guiding her and giving her the right vantage.

Narakasura was astounded by the sight he saw, here came a woman challenging him to battle and the chariot was being driven by Krishna. He is still supremely confident, but has doubts slowly creeping into his head. Who is this fierce looking woman? Something seems amiss, but before he could react, Sathyabama starts to shower him with arrows. The arrows hit their mark and Narakasura is enraged. A full-fledged battle ensues as Sathyabama continues to attack and Narakasura feels his armour beginning to fail at its job. Yes, Narakasura was losing and was badly injured, he still continues because he reminds himself that only Bhudevi can kill him according to the boon he’d received from Brahma. Sathyabama knows she’s winning and goes for one final blow by using her strongest weapon and she sees Narakasura stagger and fall to the ground. The ground shakes and Bhudevi appears, she is extremely upset with Narakasura and says its time for him to come back to her. Narakasura is embarrassed, his own mother feels he has gone rogue and abused the power he had been given. As a last resort at redemption, he pleads with all of them to not condemn and forgive him and most of all celebrate his passing as a triumph of good over evil. With that he breathes his last & Bhudevi takes him with her.
