Panipuri or fuchka or gupchup or golgappa or pani ke patake is a type of snack that originated in the Indian subcontinent, and is one of the most common street foods in the Indian subcontinent. Gol gappa (also known as pani puri) is a popular bite-size chaat consisting of a hollow, crispy-fried puffed ball that is filled with potato, chickpeas, onions, spices, and flavoured water, usually tamarind or mint, and popped into one’s mouth whole.

Pani in Hindi means water. Puri is a fried hollow ball made from wheat flour. The Puri is punctured open on one side and stuffed with delicious fillings and topped with Pani.
