Arupadai Veedu Golu Set is a decorative arrangement of dolls that depicts the six holy abodes of Lord Muruga, Thiruchendur, Pazhani, Swamimalai, Thiruthani, Pazhamudircholai, and Thiruparankundram are the six major temples of Lord Murugan. Lord Murugan travelled to Thiruchendur in order to defeat the Demon Soorapadman. Lord Murugan and Deivanai were wed in Thiruparankundram. Murugan lived in Palani following his dispute with his family over a miraculous fruit. The area is revered as Swamimalai because the Lord served as a Guru to his father, Lord Shiva. Lord Murugan and Vali were wedded at Thiruthani. The Lord played with the famous Tamil poetess Avvaiyar in Pazhamudircholai, asking her what fruit she desired—Sutta Pazham or Sudadha Pazham—cooked or uncooked.
