Vishnu Puran – Kannada

Sri Vishnu purana, is one among the 18 puranas compiled by Sri Veda Vyasa Mahrishi. It is one among the few of the puranas that has the panchalakshna (standards) prescribed. It is referred as Satwika purana because of its virtues. It has on a whole of 7000 verses mainly giving descriptions about Sri Maha Vishnu and his incarnations. Though the purana is compiled by Sri Vyasa, however, it is found as a conversation between Sri Parasara Rishi and Sri Maitreya. Broadly classifiying it has 6 sargas (larger chapters), which start specifiying the cause of the Universe till the liberation of the individual soul.Since it is referred by theologions and experts, it is literature that is more of understanding about the creation and the creator.
