Made out of Sastraic requirements for preparing kumkuma by mixing right proportions of turmeric and other natural substances in right proportions to produce the Mehroon colour and mixed with the natural extract of thazhampoo (Pine flower) essence, to bring out the rich aroma. Performing Archana to the female deities – Sri Lakshmi, Sri Durga and Sri Saraswathi brings blessings in abundance. Sharing Kumkuma to sumangalis, sukanyas during Navaratri and during auspicious occasions is a tradition.
